What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring that the mechanical aspects of all equipment are maintained to maximise availability and minimise deterioration
- Complying with all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Planned preventative maintenance activities on plant, vehicle equipment and airfield test rigs
- Fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical, fuel, hydraulic/pneumatic plant, and test equipment
- Recording details of breakdowns and repairs where necessary to facilitate further analysis
- Carrying out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair on the mechanical systems associated with any of the above
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Mechanical Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 / equivalent qualification and experience within a vehicle maintenance environment.
- Experience of bench fitting skills including use of hand tools.
- Knowledge of fault finding of complex mechanical machinery including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Understanding of various mechanical power transmission (e.g., bearings, belts, chains, mechanical couplings

The HGV Mechanical team:
As a part of HGV Mechanical team, you will predominantly be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and performance of plant and equipment located at our Warton site. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of vehicle equipment and varied test equipment rigs working with the latest technological and innovative developments in manufacturing.
