Job Title: Technical Manager - Environmental Test Facility

What you’ll be doing:

• Act as main technical focus for new opportunities as well as customer concerns and complaints
• To develop technical solutions to undertake environmental test work in response to customer needs and to support the Business Development team to develop future sales leads
• Lead/manage design activity for trials specific rigs, fixtures and asset handling equipment
• Ensure all aspects of safety are addressed via pre-trials risk assessment and that all testing is completed to accredited standards
• Actively promote and encourage the development of technical and engineering competencies and experience within the facility
• Develop and maintain relationships with the customer and partner technical communities to influence and develop environmental test specification to be undertaken by ETF

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Degree qualified in a Science or Engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• Proven engineering and technical credentials within the environmental test area including knowledge and understanding of relevant standards (e.g. Def Stan 00-35)
• Understanding of Structural Dynamics Vibration – (e.g. Sinusoidal, Random, Sine/Random)
• Ability to perform complex engineering/technical assignments developing creative, yet practical solutions to customer problems
• An understanding of uncertainty of measurement

Desirable:

• Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills

The Environmental Test Team:

You will be working with the business development team to deliver new orders and with the General Manager to assure the successful operation of the capability.

In addition, as the Technical Manager you will develop a Capability Development strategy to align with future market needs and assure that the facility has a suitable Life Cycle Management (LCM) strategy in place to support it.
