Salary: £45,326 + dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting and playing an active role in a team, responsible for delivering WT Electronics engineering tasks, mainly supporting the Wind Tunnel facilities.
- Your role will involve the use and application of specialised equipment (tools, test equipment, software packages, etc) supporting all aspects of tasks within Wind Tunnels. Training will be provided.
- Exchanging factual information, providing advice & explanations and persuading or influencing others based on firm, supportive evidence.
- Creative thinking and problem solving will be required to address the complex and unique issues encountered.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Relevant knowledge and experience (ideally 5+ years) with a background in software engineering, electronics engineering, PLC’s, C++, Python development, National instruments labview programme development and Data acquisition and Control Systems.
- A strong aptitude for technical problem-solving and decision-making
Desirable
- HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent with a keen interest in Electronics Engineering, Aerodynamics, Test Environments, Computational Modelling, Systems Engineering
- Familiarity with Aerodynamic principles, IT Tools e.g. control software

The Engineering team:
As a part of the Electronics Engineering team, you will be required to contribute to the smooth running of the Wind Tunnels by applying practical engineering skills and engineering knowledge to support Software based tasks to fulfill Wind Tunnel test programme objectives. This will ultimately involve the design, development and support of various Wind Tunnel software systems.
