What you will be delivering

We are seeking applications from both men and women interested in a technically and physically challenging work environment, as well as a rewarding career within the Energy Industry to join us as a Trainee Asset Inspector and be part of our dedicated Asset Inspection Team for our Leongatha location base.

This role is vital within the communities we service, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of energy by managing customer interfaces, supply reliability issues and maintaining regulatory obligations for the inspection of power poles and associated equipment.

You will be responsible for ensuring we run a safe and reliable network across the communities we operate.

Reporting to the regional Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing technical hands on asset inspection services on AusNets’ electricity distribution poles and wires.

Under a Traineeship, over an eighteen month traineeship, you will receive hands-on experience in delivering inspection works across the Distribution Network. You will also be mentored by highly experienced Team Leaders and Advanced Asset Inspectors, as you work towards obtaining a Certificate II in Asset Inspection.

In particular you will need to display:

• Successful completion of year 12
• No compromise on safety, exhibiting a maturity and respect for your safety and the safety of the team
• High levels of quality in everything you do
• Hold a current driver’s license and able to drive a manual transmission
• Approach work with a positive and flexible mindset

Inspecting our Electrical Distribution Network requires our workforce to be physically fit and able to complete tasks in a safe manner. If you are successful in this position, you will be required to complete a police history check and pre-employment medical assessment which includes testing for drugs and alcohol to help us protect your safety and the safety of your future colleagues.
