Underground Training Advisor

With our Great Cobar underground project planned to commence development imminently, we have a full-time opportunity for up to 6 months (fixed term) for a driven Training Advisor within our People and Training Team in the Cobar Region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Learning and Development Superintendent, you will play a key role in the efficient provision of training services to support the development of our Cobar regional team. The role will champion compliance, deliver training to personnel on site equipment, as well as contribute to the development of training materials to build the skills and capability of our operational teams to perform safely and effectively in their roles.
Roster: Offered on an 8/6 roster (FIFO/DIDO) or residential arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Leading by example to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others in the workplace, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing required training
- Undertaking training, assessment and verification of competency activities for employees within the Cobar region
- Developing fit for purpose training materials as required for eww equipment to support the safety and development of operators
- Assisting with the development, review and implementation of practical and theory assessments
- Maintaining site compliance with legislative requirements and conducting of regular training verification audits
- Delivering site inductions and associated training for the Cobar Region
- Timely and accurate entering of training records into the Learning Management System
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities through review of existing training system documentation, and undertaking corrective actions
Role Requirements
- Behaviour consistent with Aurelia Metals’ Values
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant NSW and National legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice relevant to the role
- Demonstrated experience with competency-based training and delivery on mine sites
- Solid operational experience on a mine site, ideally with strong underground experience and ability to operate a variety of equipment competently
- Strong communication skills, both written and orally
- Current unencumbered C Clas Drivers Licence
- Ability to produce a National Police Clearance
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (Pegasus) and INX InControl desirable
