ABOUT THE ROLE?

AstraZeneca is starting a multi-year transformation programme to move from existing multiple SAP ECCs to S/4HANA across business areas of supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and finance.

This is a new role created to be a leader in the Infrastructure space for a multi-year global programme to standardise our processes and create a new digital ERP platform. At the heart of this transformation lies AstraZeneca's core value of changing the lives of our patients by providing lifesaving medicines.

As the Infrastructure Lead, you will have the main responsibility for handling the SAP environments in the program.

This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical partners, and a consistent track record running SAP platforms and technologies. You will be a great teammate, proactive, an effective communicator with the ability to work independently and lead other team members.

AZ Axial is a multi-faceted, global programme responsible for the curation and delivery of core technology services to the corporation. The Infrastructure Lead will report directly to the SAP Technology Product Lead.

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated, multi-national SAP ERP environments/landscapes.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP platforms and technologies, preferably with S/4 HANA on AWS

  • Experience in SAP BASIS, Solution Manager, ChaRM and Application Life Cycle Management.

  • Training and/or experience with AWS

  • SAP Project delivery experience, including upgrades and migrations.

  • Experience with SAP Integration, Security BTP, and Cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Organisation of system demand and provision of SAP and Non SAP systems!

  • Aligning with the deployment plan to provide systems and connecting those systems as per programme requirements, (test cycles, data loads, training, etc)

  • Leading and running a process for system demand and provision

  • SAP systems – Working with the AZ Basis team to deliver according to programme demand

  • Non-SAP systems – Working with the Non SAP System Owners to organise delivery of systems, agree SoW’s where necessary

  • Organising system connectivity with the integration team to support requirements of individual systems

  • Ownership of overall system footprint and cost profile

  • Ensuring sight of AWS instances and costs associated with them, working with the AZ ETS team

  • Forecasting system demand and cost profile for the SAP and Non SAP systems, aligning with the deployment plan

  • Organising for On Demand systems to be made available/unavailable to control costs based on requirements (e.g. off at weekends, available during certain hours)

  • Technical oversight for application patterns to be used for Prod and Path to Prod systems in the new AWS architecture

  • Input into architecture patterns and technical design

  • Oversight of Non Functional Requirements and Test Scope

  • Delivery of automation features for systems provision (e.g. CloudFormation) and operations (e.g. Ansible)

Essential Skills & Experience Required?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience in Computer Science or Information Technologies

  • The role holder will possess a blend of infrastructure architecture, analysis, and engineering skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organisation with multiple collaborator and, at times, competing priorities
