Global Data Steward
In order to deliver our Operations Data vision which supports the successful delivery of the 2025 strategy, the Operations Global Data Office is recruiting. You will have experience in data management and data governance, and a proven track record working in a complex global data environment.
As the Global Data Steward, you will contribute to the development of our Data Governance strategy for global data object, attribute & process standards for the assigned Critical Data Element(s) across the AZ Enterprise. You will work closely with the Lead Global Data Steward, Regional Data Stewards & Data Assurance Analysts to embed standards & corresponding KPIs across Operations, and beyond, to drive high quality data and process performance.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and advocate for process harmonisation and use of global standards
- Work with the Lead Global Data Steward to develop our Data Governance strategy for the Critical Data Element(s)
- Be a leader in Critical Data Element Working Groups, managing stakeholder relationships, contracting with partner processes & projects regarding their data requirements
- Ensure that Critical Data Element maintenance processes are defined, designed & documented
- Identify the Critical Attributes and define & document the required data standards for each
- Partner with Regional Data Stewards to get processes, standards, SOPs & supporting documents in place globally, regionally and at sites / functional Hubs.
- Ensure all Critical Data Element information is catalogued in enterprise tool (Collibra)
- Partner with the Data Assurance Team & Regional Data Stewards to design & implement data quality & process performance metric visualisation & advise on data defect resolution before business processes are adversely impacted
- Identify opportunities for automation & self-healing to improve Data Quality
- Contribute into Project (S4, Smart Factories, Sync Supply Chain) Data Governance design activities, understanding Critical Data Element maturity v project data governance requirements and plan to close identified gaps
- Contribute to robust transition to BAU to maintain project data fitness for purpose (as per process owners / system requirements)
- Embed Lean ways of working into all your data governance activities
Essential Skills:
- Strong domain expertise and demonstrable experience within data governance
- Experience of designing and operating Data Governance processes for a global enterprise with significant geographical and functional footprint.
- Experience in data ownership or stewardship
- Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
- Experience with global working and across cultures.
- Demonstrate good communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
- Experience of working within an Operations function
- A demonstrable understanding of SAP
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of business transformation driven by process improvement
- Good understanding of current AZ Operations processes and systems
- Experience of working with lean methodologies and approaches
- Ideal candidates will have specific pharma industry and Operations Data experience
