As Director, Global Inclusion and Diversity you will work closely with the Global Inclusion and Diversity Executive Director, building an I&D strategy and roadmap that is aligned to AstraZeneca’s values, addresses business/employee needs and strengthens our human-centric and inclusive culture. You will partner with senior leaders in the UK and across Business Units to drive accountability and advise on the execution of the global I&D strategy.

Within this exciting role you will use your excellent knowledge and experience of current external and future trends to advise leaders, Global Council members and employees in developing and operationalizing programme solutions aligned to the Global I&D strategy. You will play a pivotal role in channelling our I&D strategy, sharing insights, driving positive outcomes and seeking out new opportunities that align to our I&D strategy. You will be guided by the data, using key metrics to measure outcomes and successes.

As Inclusion and Diversity Leader, you will maintain relationships with key business partners and ensures that business requirements are effectively captured. You will be curious, and continue to understand the trends across the I&D portfolio.

Key capabilities

  • Ability to translate vision to strategy and deliver against a plan (this includes experience working with the Executive Leadership Team, ERG’s, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning and Communications/Marketing)
  • Ability to manage relationships throughout a matrixed environment, coordinating time and resources according to shifting priorities
  • Proven excellence in creation and implementing programmes that have a major impact within the business area and organisation with a consistent track record in decision making
  • Ability to identify root-cause issues, match people's strategies to business strategies, and deliver programs that get results
  • Understands how to achieve support from diverse constituencies, and partner with the business along the way
  • Excellent business engagement and business acumen with sensitivity to political/economic environment

Essential Requirements

  • Track record of success in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion, workplace culture strategies and related change management needs
  • Experience in organizational I&D strategic planning, I&D programs execution and employee engagement experience. Organizational change management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to traverse the tactical, operational, and strategic needs of a growing organization, and proven success in an environment of ambiguity and change
  • Ability to earn trust, collaborate, and maintain positive and professional relationships, with various stakeholders internally and externally
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence across all levels in an organization
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and use resources effectively
  • Experience working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
  • Experience coaching and influencing leaders with ability to vary style based on the leader
  • Experience leveraging internal and external data and analytics to develop insights and drive data driven decisions
  • A deep sense of empathy and can connect well with employees of all levels

Desirable

  • Business Degree
  • Experience in advisory/consulting
  • Significant experience creating, implementing and leading Human Resources and/or Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) strategies
  • Experience of managing a budget
