Tenement Officer

We are now seeking a Tenement Officer to join our Generative Exploration team on a permanent basis.
Accountable to Tenement Manager Australia, this role will coordinate and oversee the grant of tenure and perform daily tenure management activities, monitoring compliance with obligations, tenements/ leases/permits and relevant legislation with a view to long time retention of prospective tenure.
The role is based in Perth however you will be required to visit other states and remote sites on a ‘as needs’ basis.
The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:
- Provide frontline tenement management for all Australian operational mining and exploration tenements,
- Preparing documentation for a variety of tenement statutory obligations including new and renewal applications, processing the payment of fees and day to day entry of data into internal management tools,
- Meet tenement deadlines including statutory reporting, renewals, payments of Rent/ Shire Rates, MRF returns.
- Manage and monitor the Warden’s Court objection process,
- Prepare Surrenders/ Withdrawals / Transfers of tenements and exemptions in a timely manner,
- Report and track expenditure and other obligations in the tenement database systems to ensure that all obligations in the licence/ lease are complied with, in line with the Mining Act 1978 (WA), the Mineral Resources Act 1989 (QLD) and respective regulations,
- Advise project owners of compliance issues in a monthly report and/ or when they arise,
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous Tenement Officer experience is preferred; however knowledge of WA tenement systems and Australian mining and exploration legislation will be viewed favourably,
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, written and verbal communication as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy,
- Competence in contemporary tenement database management systems, preferably LandTracker,
- Competence in general MSOffice software and the ability to adapt to various specialist software tools ie. MapInfo, ArcGIS Pro, SAP, Expenditure Watch, Promaster, and 3rd party state based systems such as Mineral Titles Online, TengraphWeb, or MyMinesOnline,
- An awareness of the importance of strong cross functional relationships within a mining and exploration company,
- A National Police Clearance,
- Permanent work rights in Australia,
