Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.
Job Description
Geologist – Grosvenor Mine
An opportunity exists for a qualified Geologist to join our underground coal mine operation. With your background you will;
- provide geological support through conducting underground mapping, planning exploration and advising diverse range of stakeholders on geological issues.
- You will be able to display your ability through undertaking short-term geological model generation and contributing to the planning process.
- Through your organizational skills you will be able to manage the required documentation across all aspects of the geology function as well undertaking required mapping and inspections.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in geological practice within an underground coal mining environment, capable in communicating with a range of stakeholders, with exceptional planning and problem solving skills will be instrumental in your success in this role.
- You will hold tertiary qualifications in Geology and have proven experience delivering best practice geological function, with a track record of developing continuous improvement in your daily
