Through our teams, we deliver superior service around the world by recovering delinquent balances and limiting American Express’s exposure to losses from corporations, their card members and from our Merchants. Covering nearly 30 markets, our team services over a dozen languages.

This Band 25 role as Commercial Credit Specialist in the Cedit Insurance team will involve being the main point of contact for customers with corporate cards as well as for middle, large and global companies who hold different Commercial products offered by American Express. Your main responsibility is to collect and negotiate overdue payments, but you will also put the Customer first by enabling spends, offering resolutions and creating responsible payers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse client portfolios and prioritise the dunning process with EMEA Commercial Credit teams to minimise portfolio losses.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims.
  • Build relationships with insurance partners to be able to deliver excellent results for American Express.
  • Coordinate limit updates as agreed with insurance partners and stakeholders.
  • Process and communicate decisions to EMEA credit teams.
  • Recommend cancellation or suspension of spending privileges where required for card members and client programs.
  • Make profitable spend decisions based on risk assessment and card member profiles.
  • Handle some incoming and outgoing calls for credit related matters.
  • Work to the highest standards with a balanced delivery of both customer experience and shareholder value.

For this role, prior experience in call centres or credit environments is not necessary. More importantly, you must have:

  • Prior experience in call centers or credit environments is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building, presentation and communication skills.
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a credit related role.
  • Ability to proactively seek out information.
  • Have an exceptional eye for details.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (verbal & written), other European language is a plus.
