Alstom Graduate Program


As a promoter of sustainable mobility, Alstom develops and markets systems, equipment and services for the transport sector. We offer a complete range of solutions (from high speed trains to metros, tramways and e-buses), passenger solutions, customised services (maintenance, modernisation), infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Alstom is a world leader in integrated transport systems, our Graduate Program aims to provide you the potential to unleash your capability on leading transport infrastructure projects, worldwide.


Our Graduate Program runs over a 2 year period, and is aimed at developing our Graduates through mentoring, job rotation and internal and external training opportunities. This position is permanent, with the opportunity to be considred for roles with Alstom worldwide at the end of your program. Our Graduate opportunities are in the following Business areas.


Signalling & Infrastructure
In Australia, Alstom continues to strengthen our operations with the rollout of European Train Control Systems (ETCS) in both Sydney and Brisbane as well as the implementation of Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) solution for the Sydney Metro project, and the Melbourne Metro Tunnel. In addition, we have a significant footprint in the design, testing and commissioning of conventional signalling systems, with a centre of excellence based in Melbourne.

Rolling Stock Supply
In 2019, Alstom was successful in securing our largest ever single order to supply 41 six-car electric trains and 2 three car diesel trains for Perth, Western Australia's METRONET Railcar Procurement Program. As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain the new railcars for a period of 30 years. Alstom also has a proud history manufacturing in Ballarat, Victoria, and is in the midst of gearing up for the production of the new X'Trapolis 2.0 project, as well as another large manufacturing base in Dandenong where we produce the VLocity trains for V-Line and Trams for Melbourne, in addition to modernisation programs.


Services
Our Services business includes innovative maintenance systems, fleet modernisation, parts and repairs that can adapt to all phases of an asset's lifecycle by offering a range of customised solutions across rolling stock, infrastructure and rail control systrems. Alstom is proud to maintain the Sydney Light Rail fleet of trams and infrastructure (Inner West and City and South-East), The Sydney Metro Rolling Stock and Signalling Systems, the Queensland New Generation Rolling (QNGR) stock fleet from Wulkaraka in Brisbane and the VLocity fleet in Melbourne as well as the E-Class Tram Maintenance.


Disciplines: Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics and Mechanical), we will also consider candidates who have studied Construction Management, Business Management and Project Management for potential functional roles in Quality, Project Management, Planning, Commercial and Sourcing and Supply Chain.

Our Graduate Program is open for applications from the 11th of March to the 11th of April.

Stage one: Online application, make sure you attach your resume, cover letter and a copy of your academic transcripts.
Stage two: Video Interview; if you are successful with your online application, you will be invited to participate in an online video interview.
Stage three: Assessment Centre; once you have successfully completed your video interview, you will be invited to a group assessment centre where you will undertake a range of group activities.
Stage four: If the assessment centre was a success, you will be invited to a face to face interview.
Stage five: Pre-employment checks, medical, references, Police Check
Stage six: If you are successful through all of this, you will be offered a role with Alstom!
