Alcoa has opportunities for enthusiastic, proactive, and experienced All Round Mine Operators at our Bauxite Mines located south of Perth in the Darling Ranges of Western Australia near Dwellingup and Waroona. In accordance with our current WA Operations AWU Enterprise Agreement our starting salary is $75, 602 plus 14% super working a 36-hour week. Shift allowances are applicable if you are on one of the 10.3-hour or 12-hour rosters.

About you

We are seeking people with:

  • Experience operating the following equipment:

    • Large dozers (D9 – D11), WA Komatsu Loaders (600 and above) with proficiency in open cut mine development, pit preparation, landscaping, and rehabilitation techniques

    • Scrapers; proficient in large open-bowl scrapers, ideally with twin-power experience (637/657) within the mining industry

    • Large wheel loaders, graders (16 to 24) and small excavators (20 – 50t)

    • Excavators (PC3000, EX2500, Hitachi 2600 etc.) with experience operating/digging in difficult and challenging terrain (such as steep forest) would be highly regarded

    • Haul trucks with large mining truck experience (100t +)

  • 5+ relevant industry experience in Mining Operations

  • Demonstrated commitment to a ‘safety first’ culture

  • Self-motivation to work semi-autonomous in a small dynamic team

  • Problem solving ability and good initiative

  • A strong team focus where you support and encourage your crew

  • WA HR Drivers Licence

In addition to this, it is desirable but not crucial for you to have:

  • Shot Firers Licence

  • Blasting Experience

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Cert IV Training & Assessment

  • Cert IV Frontline Management

  • Certificate of lower Secondary Education

  • Ability to operate to a GPS guidance system

  • Proficient in fleet management system use and working with a dispatch team
