We are looking for a Real Time Systems Field Engineer to join our team!
As a Real Time Systems Field, Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and fault rectification of SCADA & Teleprotection equipment deployed at SSEN substations, hilltop radio sites and communication rooms.
You will:
- Day to day maintenance and fault rectification of RTS equipment,
- Local & Wide Area Networks.
- Support installation, setup, and commissioning of SCADA systems.
- Support the Operational Technology & RTS Design & Delivery teams with the supervision and installation of new projects and technology.
- Participation in an emergency standby support rota will also be required.
You have:
- A good understanding of one or more of the following systems: Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), including Schneider, ABB, and ZIF.
- Proven experience in deploying IP-connected devices, including UHF scanning radio, TSAT satellite communications, fibre optic and copper cable networks, teleprotection systems, automation schemes, and LV DC wiring systems.
- Ideally, you will have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent training in telecommunications, IT, electrical, or electronic engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Open to innovation, collaborative by nature, and capable of managing your own workload while also working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The role will be field based, and will require regular travel to substations, sites, supplier locations and other SSE offices, a full current driving license is essential.
