About the Role
Base Location: Aberdeen
Salary: £41,583 - £48,296 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Our Wayleave Officers are a pivotal resource for the successful delivery of our project portfolio in order to support a net carbon zero future across our electricity distribution network. In this role you'll be responsible for securing, maintaining and managing robust land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines and ground mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Negotiating land consents for projects in the Aberdeenshire region.
- Managing risk to future network security.
- Negotiation and successful acquisition of wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.
- End to end management of compensation claims.
- Develop internal and external stakeholders to build positive working relationships.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience securing wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, national agencies and the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit.
- Sound knowledge of and application of land rights, planning processes and environmental legislation, or a keen appetite to learn.
- A full, current driving licence.
