About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key sites in Reading or Perth

Salary: £31,339 - £35,892 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Document Controller who will be responsible for ensuring appropriate access and management of documents and drawings are maintained at relevant stages in the project lifecycle.

This is a new role as part of a growing team within SSEN Distribution's Large Capital Delivery directorate. As Document Controller, you'll work as part of the Project Services team to ensure effective management, control and distribution of project documents. You will work closely with the Delivery Project Managers and the wider Large Capital Delivery team to ensure successful delivery of projects.

Key Accountabilities

Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Ensure all project documents are organised and structured in line with procedures.

- Issue, record and distribute Contractor & 3rd party documentation.

- Quality checking of receipted documents from Contractors and 3rd parties.

- Maintain project correspondence.

- Ensure document control procedures are maintained and updated where required.

- Collaborate with the wider team to share lessons learned and best practices.

What do I need?

We are looking for someone who has experience of Document Control or a willingness to learn. A background in a Large Capital Projects environment would be advantageous, though this is not essential.

- Knowledge of document control systems and processes.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and work as part of a team.

- Focus on continuous improvement, striving to improve the quality of document management processes as an aid to project management.

- Ability to work to tight deadlines.

- Experience and understanding of using SharePoint and MS Office.
