Base Location: New Forest, Southampton or Salisbury

Salary: £31,339 - £35,892, Plus:

- Full PPE and Tools required for the role.

- Dependant on level of authorisations, this role can be an SS05 (requires 11kV SAP / permit to work)

Do you have some experience as an Electrical Fitter, or looking for a career change and would like to be part of a forward thinking company that powers 3.8 million homes and businesses in communities across central southern England and the North of Scotland?

We are looking for interested candidates with a Mechanical or Electrical bias to join us and work as part of a team maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the electricity network that supply our customers.

What is the Role?

- In this role you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining electrical equipment on the electricity network up to 33kV network, ensuring maintenance is completed within specific time frames and the network is restored to normal as soon as possible. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios.

- You will be part of the team that is involved in the delivery of construction projects in line with agreed KPI's, including all plant and equipment (both electrical and mechanical) ensuring it is operating within designated limits.

- You will assist the maintenance team with switching out the network and restoration switching within authorisation level, including planning on how, when and where all works will take place.

- You will be an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers, including National Grid and small scale power stations, to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.

- Safety is a key priority at SSE and throughout everything you do you will adhere to safety policies and procedures.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience as an Electrical Fitter. Knowledge of the Electrical Distribution Network.

- Experience and/or authorisations to work on the electrical distribution network would be advantageous.

- Electrical experience if previous working history is outside of a DNO.

- A high regard for safety with strong customer service skills.

- Excellent communication skills are essential to this role as we deal with customer related issues face to face on a daily basis, and good service allows us to achieve our broader measure requirements and targets.

- A clean driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must.
