Base Location: Swindon, Melksham, Reading or Slough
Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 depending on skills and experience and a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available
We are looking for a Land Consents Officer to join our busy team!
As a Land Consents Officer, you will be responsible for obtaining permissions and consent from land owners for the installation of our equipment in relation to New Connection jobs, this includes all access arrangements, wayleaves, easements etc.
You will work closely with our connections delivery teams to ensure projects are completed in a timely, safe and cost-effective way, providing advice on route design and optimum delivery options. You will also ensure we remain compliant with legislation and maintain and build relationships with landowners and customers.
As a Land Consents Officer, you will ensure that connections projects are delivered through excellence in obtaining all the required consents to achieve the detailed construction design for cable routes, overhead lines and substations.
Roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Gaining wayleaves, easements and access agreements
- Producing access packs and legal drawings
- Advising on route design & landowner impact
- Dealing with statutory bodies to obtain the relevant consents and planning
- Liaising with connections team to update on progress
What do I need?
To ensure you get the most from your role we ask that you have experience within the wayleave field, and of wayleave procedures.
- Experience working within the distribution industry or another regulated environment is essential.
- Working knowledge of agriculture or forestry would be a distinct advantage.
- We are looking for someone with a high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority.
- Outstanding customer relationship skills, and a commitment to providing a high level service at all times is essential, you should be comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- A sound knowledge of IT, namely Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential and a flair for picking up new IT systems is a great advantage.
This role involves both office based and site/field based visits and as a result we can only accept applications from candidates that hold a current driving licence.
