About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.
Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 / €88,600 - €132,800 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
About the Department
SSE Renewables Offshore Asset Management operates SSE's Offshore wind fleet. The team keeps power flowing safely and efficiently to ensure that offshore wind plays its part in delivering SSE's strategy, goals and NZAP+ programme.
The Asset Integrity team is a key component of Offshore Asset Management. We are a group of Engineers that look after the short and long-term performance of our turbines, structures, power systems and SCADA, from an efficiency and integrity point of view. Our work is focused on ensuring the assets perform at their best and this encompasses a wide range of engineering activities, from day-to-day system operations through to long term project-based campaigns and programs.
What is the Role?
Reporting to the Offshore Head of Asset Integrity, the Technical Asset Manager is accountable for the lifetime integrity management of all Electrical and SCADA assets across the offshore portfolio. This includes the definition and implementation of the asset integrity management strategy as well as providing leadership on all engineering and technical management activities within field of expertise.
This role will provide line management and leadership across a team of around 10 Engineers and Lead Engineers.
Main accountabilities may include:
- Ensure that all works are planned and managed within relevant SSE SHE management standards and act as a safety role model.
- Accountable for the development and implementation of the lifetime asset integrity management plan for all electrical and SCADA assets. This includes, maintenance strategy definition, operational decision making, resource planning and commercial and risk management, budget definition and financial management.
- Asset performance optimisation; ensuring all activities are planned and managed to minimise downtime and maximise asset reliability and yield.
- Senior stakeholder management and reporting.
- Leadership and development of a high performing team of Engineers and Lead Engineers, supporting team development and growth.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Significant experience in general business processes such as planning, risk management, budgeting, reporting, HR management, procurement & commercial management and business improvement.
- Strong customer focus and a passion for excellent customer service.
- A track record in leading and developing high performing technical teams.
- Degree qualified in a relevant technical subject and holding Chartership of a relevant institution or be able to demonstrate alternative relevant experience.
- Experience managing large scale technical projects, ideally in an offshore environment.
