About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £45,400 - £57,000 + performance related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

As Learning Manager you'll support the Learning Partner in delivering learning plans and developing the learning culture to support SSE's accelerated Net Zero ambitions. You'll work as a consultant, aligned to specific business areas, understanding key learning issues, influencing how people develop, and providing the appropriate support. This is a unique opportunity to join a values driven team and business dedicated to enabling the transition to Net Zero. In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting the people capability plan needs through a (70) experience, (20) exposure, and (10) education approach, that helps them to deliver the business priorities and goals.

- Working collaboratively and forming close working relations within the business teams and HR community.

- Driving innovative learning activity that promotes the SSE values and Leadership Blueprint, and meets compliance with regulators, internal policies, and standards.

- Helping develop a culture of continuous improvement, driving quality standards, and operational excellence on behalf of the Learning & Talent team and business areas.

What do I need?

This is an ideal role for a qualified HR or learning and development professional with an extensive track record in senior stakeholder management in a large organisation.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- The ability to influence, listen intently, and ask good probing questions that help embrace healthy debate and diversity of input to all activity.

- The ability to communicate with impact and influence at senior leader levels in discussions relating to the most suitable learning approach to meet the need.

- Experience in project management and business change within an HR or learning and development role.

- The ability to deliver within challenging timescales, apply critical thinking, and good attention to detail.

- Excellent planning, communication, and engagement skills.
