About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness or Perth
Salary: Circa £65,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
The Marine Manager is a key role within the Offshore Directorate Marine Function which supports the Marine Operations and Assurance activities across the SSEN Transmissions portfolio of projects. The position will focus on ensuring that the vessel and marine activities meet the defined assurance requirement and that the marine operations are executed safely and effectively.
Your responsibilities would be:
- Owning the marine and vessel assurance process across the SSEN Transmission portfolio of projects.
- Build a team of competent marine personnel to support the provision of critical marine resources within each project, providing oversight and guidance on a functional level.
- Interface extensively with Contractors and vessel personnel.
- Provide marine input into the project contract and stage gate documentation; owning the development and implementation of the Projects Marine and Vessel Management Plans.
- Where necessary the Marine Manager (Marine Function) will be seconded to a particular project in support of the preparation and execution of marine activities.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A natural leader with an excellent understanding of marine assurance, extensive knowledge of marine standards, processes and practices, advanced knowledge of different vessel types used in marine construction and their mission specific equipment.
- Master Mariner – Unlimited with Command Experience and will have extensive Marine and Vessel Assurance Experience; familiar with IMCA and OCIMF.
- Experience in the Offshore Energy industry with extensive experience in marine operations and environmental factors.
- Assist engineering teams with reviewing Marine Constructability during the different stages of the project lifecycle, and prior to handover to the project for execution.
- Experience in accident/incident reporting and providing leadership on site in terms of safety management.
