Job Description

Rockwell Automation is hiring!

We are looking for a Technology Consultant (Software & Control) to be based in our Ryde, Sydney office.

The role

Based in Sydney, you will be the technical domain expert for our Software & Control products portfolio. You will use your expertise to provide consultation to our sales team and contribute to the growth of our business. You will also have the opportunity to be intimately engaged in key customer opportunities, identify technical / commercial challenges and work with appropriate channels to address those challenges. There’s also the opportunity to be involved in several of our marketing events and present your areas of expertise to our customers.

Continuous learning of our technology will be key to the success of your role, which means you will have the opportunity to attend technical training and explore the latest technologies before bringing them to the market. As part of the broader domain experts community globally, you will network and learn from one another!

Key responsibilities:

  • Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the product range to existing and new customers with presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, performance tests and/or similar activities
  • Proactively facilitate and/or provide product based training to the sales force & channel
  • Generate and present proposals
  • Define and articulate product differentiators and values versus competition
  • Analyze competitive product lines, have knowledge of competitor’s strategy, further define competitive differentiators
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and/or similar marketing activities, offering demonstrations and product expertise with customers where needed
  • Update customers on new products and technology as related to customer’s industry and application needs
  • Provide product gap and development feedback to appropriate business unit.
  • Share insights with regional and global peers
  • Knowledge of the industry strategies, familiarity with outcome-based selling.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in automation and related products
  • Experience or understanding of IoT platforms and SAAS offerings will be viewed favorably
  • Prior experience in customer facing roles will be an added advantage
  • Prior experience in F&B and/or Mining industry will be preferred
  • Enjoys a role which has a mix of technical / commercial exposure
