About the role

There is currently an opportunity to join our Facilities – Contract Management Team in Perth working as a Contracts Specialist to assist in governing and optimising our service contracts within the Iron Ore operations.
This is a permanent position based in Perth, reporting to the Superintendent IFMS Contracts & Commercial. You will be:
- Working in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to achieving our goal of zero harm
- Delivering operational requirement through scoping, commercial analysis, negotiation, contract conformance and input into variation preparation for the IFMS contract
- Interpreting the contract, service specifications, pricing schedules and management plans to ensure services are delivered and charged correctly.
- Governance of the IFMS contracts
- Responding to internal and external stakeholders regarding contractual issues and provide guidance and support through to resolution
- Commercial relationship management
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce/business/accounting and contract management
- Prior experience in managing large contracts in the mining, services or construction industries
- Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to provide regular updates to senior leaders
- Proven ability to review, analyse and interpret data
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage expectations
- A knowledge of business process and system application with Rio Tinto

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
