The Role
We are looking for an energetic and collaborative Mine Ventilation Technician to join our Technical Services team at Prominent Hill. Reporting to the Senior Ventilation Engineer, this permanent role will be primarily focused on daily ventilation support for the mining operation.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Provide continuous on-site ventilation support working alongside the underground ventilation engineer on an 8 day on, 6 day off rotation. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct primary and secondary ventilation surveys to ensure the underground workplaces are ventilated correctly.
- Control and monitor all underground mine ventilation conditions
- Ensure ventilation standards and regulations are met and maintained
- Lead the construction, commissioning and improvement of the mine ventilation system
- Optimise the underground ventilation system with a goal of cost-effective best practice
- Update all mine ventilation and emergency plans with locations of ventilation infrastructure
- Implement corrective action plans in consultation with Mine Engineers and Operations
- Explore new technologies to improve the efficiency of the ventilation system
- Build relationships with underground mining crews and provide ventilation education

Work Experience & Skills:
- Experience working in an underground mine
- Experience driving a manual vehicle underground
- Knowledge of MS Office packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Vent sim software experience desirable
Qualifications:
- Year 12 or equivalent
- Australian drivers licence
