What you’ll do
You’ll work with Group Transformation or the Chief Information Office, who are Lloyds Banking Group’s leaders and experts in the delivery and support of large, complex change programmes, specialising in the implementation of cross-divisional and regulatory initiatives.
The varied Group Transformation portfolio includes regulatory change projects in areas such as Open Banking, exciting digital capability programmes such as Digital Workplace and critical risk-focused activities such as the Technology Resilience.
You'll be responsible for requirements analysis, process design and solution design for small work packages, initiatives or small components of a larger project or product, in order to realise customer value through excellence and execution. You'll use Business Analyst skills to support the Product Owner or Project Manager to identify and understand the business need, analyse and prioritise the requirements and then assess, design, test and implement agreed solutions.
About the programme
Starting in May 2022, the Business Analyst apprenticeship scheme offers an exciting and fulfilling career opportunity for inquisitive, forward-thinking and solution-focused individuals.
You'll gain an insight into how different large scale projects run within Lloyds Banking Group and how the resulting outputs affect our customers or different internal areas of our business. You’ll further discover how different business areas operate and function across the organisation.
This apprenticeship covers the fundamentals of business analysis and will allow you to conduct structured investigations of business situations, model processes to establish efficiencies, elicit requirements from customers, consider wider risks to change and support the business impact assessment of transformation. The programme content covers:
- Role of the Business Analyst – Investigation and Elicitation Techniques
- Process and Data Modelling – Stakeholder Analysis and Management
- Agile Business Analysis
The apprentice scheme will last for 16 months to develop your capabilities as a Business Analyst, during which time you'll also gain knowledge or qualifications covering:
- BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- MSP Foundation & Practitioner
As part of this role you learn to…
- Understand business problems, critically evaluating business ideas from a customer and a commercial point of view
- Identify underlying business needs to be addressed and challenge existing practices
- Validate requirements and proposed solutions with partners and gain approval
- Facilitate managing the product backlog working collaboratively with the Product Owners and the delivery teams to ensure consistent understanding of the proposed solution and assist with elaboration, sprint planning activities
- Actively contribute in defining and updating the operating model and process documentation
- Provide domain knowledge and analysis capability
- Support Architectural teams to ensure requirements and proposed solutions are aligned with strategy and the Target Operating Model
- Adopt a service design mentality, responsible for ensuring a balanced and cohesive outcome
- Encompass customer experience design, operation design and solution design, including the identification and resolution of macro and micro design decisions
- Take responsibly for closing down debate on requirements scope to keep the delivery on track
- Support Feature Team with testing preparation, automation and acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets the identified business need. Follow Group policies and all regulatory and statutory requirements.
What you’ll have:
- Grade C or above in at least five GCSEs including English and Mathematics
- 104 UCAS points, or equivalent
