Department Description

Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) is responsible for the strategic risk management of certain risks on behalf of the CIB Markets businesses. CPG is comprised of the Lending and Derivatives business. This sits within the Derivatives business, which includes the XVA desk, and is responsible for managing the counterparty credit risk (CVA) and funding risks (FVA) associated from bilateral OTC derivatives trades, by executing hedging transactions to offset movements in XVA balance sheets reserves.

The Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support a new Function being created within the CPG trading business. The role will involve facing off to the front office and liaising with many business stakeholders in an environment which is fast paced, dynamic and continuing to evolve. Further this role will support bookside xVA traders and their management of CVA / FVA risk and multiple initiatives, including further supporting interaction with: Product Control (PC), Quantitative Research (QR), Model Governance Group (MGG) and Valuation Control Group (VCG)

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a new function providing front line support to CPG Trading, managing the data inputs into Credit system (across trade, risk, mtm, market and model data, legal/collateral)
  • Build an effective Control Environment, set minimum standards and develop new processes where required
  • Build Metrics and scalable threshold targets across all coverage to measure success for the team
  • Establish a level one support structure to resolve Trader Exposure, stale market data issues.
  • Build and maintain an SPV specific onboarding workflow
  • Build strong relationships across all businesses we interact with
  • Weekly collation of key business metrics that feed into multiple business control forums.
  • Create traceability of all data and related controls for regulatory reviews
  • Ultimately improve controls, and reduce front office overhead

Qualifications

  • Significant Investment Banking experience
  • Strategic Mindset ability to investigate details data and identify solutions
  • Excellent analytical and strategic, and problem-solving skills as well as understanding complex flows
  • Attention to detail and investigative skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills including extensive experience of interaction with senior management
  • Ability to clearly define and articulate business requirements
  • Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with front office, middle office and technology teams on a daily basis who are both business and technically sophisticated
  • Independent , proactive, self-motivated and flexible with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Works well with others and is a good team player
  • Strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high-level standard
  • Able to build relationships and influence others including technology, LOBs and other business partners
  • Control focused
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects while continuing to deliver on daily requirements

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance
  • Advanced MS Excel/Access/ Powerpoint skills particularly VBA
