About the role
We are currently recruiting for Asset Inspectors at the following locations:
- Armidale
- Ballina or Grafton
- Bathurst or Oberon
- Bega
- Cooma
- Tamworth or Quirindi
- Tenterfield
An Asset Inspector at Essential Energy plays a crucial role in inspecting and testing distribution and sub-transmission assets. This position involves conducting detailed assessments on poles and associated hardware, performing termite inspections and treatments, and carrying out minor on-site repairs. Inspectors operate various equipment, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is pivotal in maintaining asset integrity and ensuring network safety and reliability.

About You
As an asset inspector, linesman, electrician, electrical worker, or trades assistant considering the Asset Inspector role at Essential Energy, your hands-on experience in electrical systems and commitment to safety are essential. With your technical expertise and dedication, you are poised to play a pivotal role in safeguarding asset integrity and contributing to the organisation's success. This role suits a self-starter, as you will work autonomously to achieve business goals while being part of a larger team.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate II ESI in Asset Inspection and Testing or relevant qualifications/experience.
- Driver’s Licence.
- White Card.
- Maintenance of all necessary licences, authorisations, and certificates.
Desirable
- First Aid Certification.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- Dogging Certification.
- Chemical awareness, handling, and storage training.
