How can you change it up?

As our Fibre Installation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for monitoring the onsite delivery for the fibre connectivity element of a Fibre-to-the-Home network deployment project. This is a crucial role within the City team, providing and maintaining a fibre network for both the use of business and residential customers.
You’ll be:

  • Evaluating, testing and installing both legacy and new fibre networks
  • Liaising with the City team to make sure that both the internal and external customers experience a seamless connection
  • Ensuring that site operations are carried out to a high standard within contractual specification, to the relevant specification and within quality, health, safety, environmental and NRSWA guidelines and regulations
  • Ensuring all customer documentation is completed and checked in accordance with client requirements
  • Installing, testing and splicing fibre optic cables within existing infrastructure
  • Making sure that all site-specific risk assessments are in place

What will you bring to the role?

It’s important that you have previous experience in fibre optic installation and OTDR, OILM testing and splicing. You’ll also need:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with members of the public and other interested stakeholders
  • NRSWA/Highways Experience
  • NRSWA Certification minimal level Unit 2
  • Competent using Microsoft packages (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Full clean driving licence

Any experience in OSP Telecoms Network Build, pole training and EXFO Max-tester would be a bonus!
