About Daunia
The Daunia open cut coal mine is located in Queensland, Australia and is located SW of Mackay. The mine commenced coal production in March 2013 and Mining activity at Daunia mine is primarily conducted within the Leichhardt and Upper Vermont seams.
The Daunia CHPP operates an operator maintainer model and the plant includes a ROM dump station, coal sizing stations, dense medium separation, spirals, flotation cells and product stockpiles managed by dozers. We are always continuing to improve and drive standardisation through best practice and technology.

Opportunities are currently available within the Processing team at our Daunia Mine for CHPP Operator Maintainers.
In this role you’ll be responsible for the day to day operation and maintenance of a coal processing plant, working across departments to safely deliver coal to our customers, thinking outside the box and looking to always improve the way we do things.

- Demonstrated commitment to safety, health, the community and the environment.
- Working cooperatively within a team to achieve targets safely
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge of safety processes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Operate and monitor the Coal Handling Prep Plant (CHPP)
- Performing production tasks include inspections, trouble-shooting of production issues, machinery operation and cleaning activities to maintain housekeeping standards
- Trade qualified Electrician or Fitter
- Unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s licence
- Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate into new teams and focus on teamwork
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace including willingness to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with site procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Identifying and rectifying hazards, damage and defects
- Willingness to proactively contribute ideas to solve problems and improve existing processes and tools.
