Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth (Onsite)
Salary: Up to £42,153 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Support Operation Defects and systems issues in a timely manner through ship visit or technical support to Royal Navy maintainers
Providing remote technical support for the BAE Systems in service Combat Management System product line
Configuration and preparation of hardware, performing Installation Readiness Reviews for Ship Systems installations/upgrades and commissioning
Hardware repairs and spares consideration
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Understanding and experience in COTS (commercial off-the shelf) equipment, preferably with Shared Infrastructure and PC technology
Experience of successful system installations, setting to work and commissioning
Desirable:
Expertise in engineering or defence related industry
Familiarity within a Naval Combat Systems Environment
“Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.”

The Ship Service team:
In this team you will be providing support to the Combat Management System for a number of Royal Naval ships including the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carries, Type 45 Destroyers, Type 23 Frigates and LPD platforms. You will have the chance to work with some of the latest technologies and shared infrastructure across a range of different platforms, and therefore will be able to develop your skills and capabilities.
Not only will this role provide you with the exciting opportunity to gain a high level of experience in command systems across the full suite of our supply and experience new technologies implemented on the ships you will also have the support towards professional registration and prospects for travel across the UK and abroad.
