Salary:£85,000+, depending on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
The role holder will work with Naval Ships PM Director / Senior Leadership Team, Senior PM and Project Control Leads, Programme and Functional Directors, Customer senior Leads and Sector Project Capability Director
Responsible for the leadership and direction of the Project Controls function in BAE Naval Ships Business Unit (multi £Billion portfolio)
Leading the integration of the core Project Control disciplines of Planning, Cost Management, Risk and Opportunity Management, Change Management and Performance Measurement to ensure a consistent approach and application of integrated Project Controls
Leading the improvement of Project Control processes, systems and application across the NS portfolio and alignment to BAE PM Modernisation programme.
Ensuring that Project Controls governance and review arrangements are applied across the NavalShips Portfolio
Acting as the Project Control Authority for NS reporting to the Business Unit PMA and a dual report to the Sector Project Controls Capability Director
Chair and support Project Controls Reviews and Lifecycle Management reviews across multiple BAE Sectors/Business Units
Represent Naval Ships at the BAE Corporate Project Controls Working Group globally
Your skills and experiences:
Extensive Leadership experience and experience managing successful teams
Excellent communication skills, influencing skills with senior stakeholders, ability to work and communicate a message at all levels
Extensive Project Controls and Project Management experience in a complexed programme/portfolio environment
Extensive, expert level understanding of a range of PM&C tools techniques and practices
Extensive, expert level knowledge of the PM&C capability landscape including with Professional institutions
People leader with robust experience in people management and experience implementing project controls in complexed high value/duration programmes

The Naval Ships team:
Be an integral part of the complex ship business, managing in a matrix environment a project controls team of around 200 people while shaping future of the business. You will work closely with the Director of Programme Management, Programme Directors, and Heads of Project Controls for each Programme to establish and maintain an infrastructure and function for integrated Project Controls, delivering across all Naval Ships Programmes and Sites, including the appropriate application of Governance. Involvement in the wider Maritime and Groups level Project Controls modernisation programme.
