We are currently recruiting for Grade 4 Packing Operators on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to be based in the Global Packing Centre.

As a Packing Operator you will be expected to be involved in the packing and assembly of product, meeting SHE and Quality targets, and supporting the Grade 7 Packing Operators.

Work in a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and AstraZeneca standards at all times.

Responsibilities:

You will support the Operating Technicians to carry out the following tasks:

Ensure accurate batch components are received from the warehouse to ensure smooth running of the line.

Responsible for clearing the line from last order, check all components/batch documentation, set up line, start up and run line to ensure smooth running and production schedules are met. You will also close down packing orders.

Supporting the Grade 7 Operating Technicians in diagnosing and solve basic faults/issues associated with core tasks, referring more complex re-occurring issues to technical staff to ensure smooth running of the line.

Working effectively as a member of the team in order to ensure that effective communication channels and efficient working practices are maintained within the working period/team you will also participate as a team member in improvement works and projects to ensure fit for purpose and line improvement.

Maintaining vigilance throughout the working period, including safety and quality checks, and inspection sampling, you will work to ensure compliance with GMP and SHE standards and that a safe and efficient environment is maintained through good housekeeping.

Using the ICON system to issue components, you will complete and reconcile relevant documentation to meet with GMP standards and to ensure effective communication across the plant.

Essential Requirements:

  • Computer literate (basic knowledge Outlook and of AZ systems e.g. AZ Learn)
  • Basic knowledge of GMP and SHE requirements
  • Operational knowledge of AstraZeneca’s products and packing procedures
  • Attention to detail

Desirable Requirements:

  • Working experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of EBR and PASX
  • Use of ICON to issue components
  • Closing down of packing orders
  • Demonstrated continuous improvements skills
  • Proven problem solving skills

Please note: This role is aligned internally to SA91 Grade 4.

The role potentially requires working night shifts. It will be an early/late or early/lates/nights pattern on rotation - this will be discussed further at interview.
