About the Opportunity

12 month Fixed Term opportunity based in Henderson WA/Osborne SA. Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will support an experienced team supporting the delivery of sourcing, negotiation, contract management, financial reporting and purchasing within allocated portfolios

This role is undertaken in a dynamic and complex environment where customer service, risk management and obtaining value-for-money outcomes are paramount. Solid relationship management skills through coordination and liaison is required with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the procurement process is understood, applied into day-to-day operations and in accordance with current best practice and ASCs corporate governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure procurement activity is undertaken in an ethical, efficient and effective manner which complies with Australian Law and all CMS policies, procedures and processes associated with this role and any subordinate roles.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies and sourcing plans that achieve ASC’s financial requirements as they relate to supply chain activities.
  • Execution of purchase orders as assigned to support a variety of sustainment and generation projects.
  • Support the sourcing and contract management of key categories within Procurement.
  • Ensure the execution and maintenance of safe working practices in accordance with relevant company policy and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Administer purchase order deliverables and process vendor claims for payment.
  • Develop savings and other initiatives to improve overall efficiencies that demonstrate value for money and support continuous improvement objectives.
  • Maintain vendor database, contractual records and configured copies of subcontracts.

Skills & Experiences

  • Qualification in a related area and/or considerable procurement experience
  • Sound working knowledge of contract law
  • Proven contract management, communication and negotiations skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Defence, resources or engineering/construction contracts in a contractual and commercial capacity

Desirable:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business or procurement
  • Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Australia
  • International procurement experience

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
