Purpose of the role:

We are seeking an inquisitive and driven Technical Coordinator join our Global Technical team, on a full-time basis within our brand new Global Head Office in Collingwood.

As the Technical Coordinator, you will be the subject matter expert for all internal and external Technical enquiries related to Aesop product formulation, packaging and manufacturing process, ensuring strict and critical company standards are met.

You will also be able to attend bulk production and filling and packing trials at Manufacturer’s located across Melbourne and Sydney as required. You will be responsible for identifying production challenges and issue resolution alongside Aesop Manufacturer’s and internal stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems, as well as Technical processes within Supply Chain. This role supports the Global Technical Team, so interaction with Regional Teams may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the Technical representative in Circularity Projects, ensure thorough understanding of project, and establish success criteria's alongside projects team

  • Coordinate and attend bulk production / filling and packing trials at Contract Manufacturer’s

  • Technically assess new product or process introduction at Manufacturer’s / Retail store, ensuring product specification is met through a validated manufacturing process

  • Prepare and complete trial report for all trials in conjunction with Contract Manufacturer, R&D and/or Packaging Team

  • Liaise with R&D/Packaging Team to discuss post trial effectiveness and communication for improvements

  • Lead/Participate in root cause analysis for production issues alongside Aesop Quality and Manufacturer’s, and implementation of corrective and preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence

  • Proactively review existing processes and seek opportunity to improve

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects such as improving systems, processes and Technical knowledge database within Technical Team and Supply Chain function

  • Maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS), procedures and protocols within Technical

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment or similar

  • Process Engineering / Pharmaceutical degree qualification is preferred, but will consider:

  • Packaging/Chemical/Project Engineering, or

  • Relevant experience in similar role

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process ideally in cosmetics, consumer goods, food, beverage or pharmaceuticals is advantageous

  • Experience in project management

  • Familiar with root cause analysis principles (Six Sigma or similar)

  • Exposure to MRP system, such as NetSuite or SAP for Bill of materials, product specification

  • An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Detail oriented, with excellent follow through skills

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Report writing skills

  • Self-motivated, curious, a love for learning and embraces hands-on approach
