The Opportunity

Your role as the State Quality and Excellence Specialist (Q&ES) is to ensure our products at Woolworths Supermarkets are of high quality standards for our customers & communities. In this role, you will provide Q&ES support to the ambient DCs within the region/portfolio in line with Woolworths Group and Primary Connect policies, procedures, and processes.

You will be given a high level of support and resources to drive our Primary Connect purpose of connecting communities with the products they need and love.

This role requires to travel between Mulgrave, Dandenong South, Hoppers Crossing and Laverton North (VIC).

Key Responsibilities include:
Working in a passionate and supportive team, time will be spent implementing and maintaining critical controls from the Quality and Excellence Program as well as:

  • Assembling a HACCP team responsible for implementing and maintaining the HACCP system methodology within the scope of the Quality and Excellence Program
  • Identifying and investigating any non-conformances, determines and implements the appropriate corrective actions
  • Facilitating the closure of CARS or any food safety non conformances raised or received
  • Performing the periodic verification of support programs via observations taken during a site inspection / walkthroug
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of the support programs and practices
  • Performing the internal audit of the food safety controls and processes in the DC.
  • Liaising with external auditors, assisting and confirming DC processes and closing out of NCRs raised. e.g. site walkthrough, documentation, answering questions.
  • Maintaining the calibration and scheduling of all testing, measuring and inspection equipment, including record keeping and service reports.
  • Working closely with different key functions / teams in the DC, key stakeholder and the Risk and Compliance team on food safety
  • Liaising with onsite operational teams in regards to F&M operational issues, striving for satisfaction of service delivery with an emphasis on achieving DC KPIs

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a passionate and meticulous Quality Assurance professional who will have:

  • HACCP accreditation preferred but not essential
  • Qualifications equivalent to a Diploma and/or Degree
  • Proven experience in FMCG distribution centre or warehousing environment
  • Demonstrated skills in administration, the use of technology and time management
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates logical thinking and effective problem-solving approaches
  • Pro-actively seeks continuous improvement methods
  • Motivated, confident and enthusiastic
  • Ability to effectively build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
