Within Woolworths 360 the Woolworths Facilities Management (WFM) Service team is one of the largest providers of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Services in Australia. The team operates around the country to support our stores, including performing day to day service and maintenance efficiently and with minimum disruption to our stores and customers.

The refrigeration landscape is always changing. We strive to be at the forefront of refrigeration technology with a focus on sustainability and have stores that utilise trans-critical/cascade CO2 refrigeration systems on RDM, Danfoss, Dixell iPro and Emerson Controllers. This role will provide exposure to the latest supermarket refrigeration systems and provide opportunities to further develop your skills. We also provide our team members with the latest product training via our relationships with industry-leading partners.


The role

As an HVAC & R Technician, you will ensure facilities management services to our customers are at the highest levels and ensure we operate as a proactive, responsive and efficient service model. The zone you will cover will have approximately 40 - 50 stores.

As a member of the Service Delivery Team, the Service Technician ensures WFM services to our customers are at the highest levels and that we operate as a Proactive, Responsive and Efficient service model.

In the role, your responsibilities will be:

  • Proactively look for potential sources of refrigerant gas leaks in order to reduce refrigerant usage
  • Reduce average reactive call volume per store/month below agreed target
  • Control and reduce costs (labour, materials, subcontractors) against store budget
  • Ensure refrigeration case uptime to maximise sales for customer
  • Achieve service response times as per business expectations
  • Achieve first time fix targets
  • Meet energy saving targets as agreed with key stakeholders
  • Maintain and update Asset registers
  • Achieve agreed service and safety levels in line with Woolworths’s ways of working and WHS procedures
  • Complete all allocated planned maintenance activities (Refrigeration, air conditioning and pre-summer preparations)


About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile for our stores and customers. Bring with you your existing refrigeration/HVAC know-how, a keen attitude and it will be valued and built upon!

Who we’re looking for

  • Trade qualification in refrigeration and/or HVAC with exposure to commercial refrigeration, as well as;

Restricted electrical licence + current CPR/LVR
Current, valid ArcTick Refrigerant Handling Licence
Current recognised Industry induction card (White/Blue card)
Current, valid Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence

  • Flexibility to travel to various sites and to be on call as required (rostered system)
  • A high level of organisational skills with the ability to self manage tasks, and work towards deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as a team
  • A solutions mindset and the ability to think outside the box
  • A good level of computer literacy and technically minded
  • It would be great but not essential if you had supermarket experience
