If you are completing your studies in 2024, we are looking for the next generation of leaders to join our legal team and play a role in actively supporting every part of the Woolworths business. We are passionate about retail; and deliver thought-leadership and professional, candid legal advice across diverse areas of expertise including Corporate and Commercial, Property, IP, Competition and Regulatory Matters, Public Liability, M&A, Digital, Data and Privacy and Employment law with teams in both Australia and New Zealand.


What you’ll learn and experience


In this 2 year program, you will be a part of one of the largest in-house retail legal teams and work alongside our highly experienced General Counsels and Lawyers rotating through our business-facing and specialist legal teams. Throughout the program, you will develop fundamental legal, commercial and business partnering skills and help advise on some of the most interesting and complex legal issues in Corporate Australia.


We have also entered into an exciting association with Ashurst, a leading international law firm. Through this association, we will provide opportunities for reverse secondments and participation in shared professional development programs as part of the extended Ashurst Graduate cohort. The role is primarily based in our Norwest Head Office in Sydney.


When does it start?

Our graduate program will commence in January 2024. By successfully completing this program you will potentially roll off into a permanent position within our Legal team.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for team members who are passionate about retail and innovation, with a customer first mindset and thrive in a fast paced team environment. As we move to an agile way of working, you will need to bring your self-awareness, resilience and the ability to learn and apply new information quickly.

  • Candidates will need to have completed Bachelor ofLaw in 2023.
  • We are especially looking for candidates who work in our stores or are referred by current team members, but this is not a requirement.
  • This role is primarily based in our Norwest Head Office in Sydney. Candidates not in Sydney are welcome to apply but may need to relocate if successful.
