About The Role
A senior career opportunity has become available for a credible and accomplished people leader with Omnichannel Supply Chain experience
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Operations - Big W, this role requires a dynamic leader who can lead and influence across multiple teams in order to deliver successful outcomes.
This is a broad role with delivery responsibilities across traditional Store and evolving E-commerce channels, so we are seeking a change management champion who is a natural forward thinker, understanding and driving Safety First and Continuous Improvement cultures.
As the Distribution Centre Manager overseeing a large team of over 200 employees, your primary purpose is to oversee all functions including safety, business performance, service levels and financial expectations by building the best team culture. Your role scope also includes:
- Lead people strategies, implementing identified changes working with site union representatives to develop your workforce and achieve desired outcomes
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives independently and alongside partners that support customer service and cost expectations
- Create an environment of shared leadership within the DC Management Team in delivering business results focused on customer satisfaction and team engagement
- Play a key role in delivering successful e-commerce performance levels at the same time as landing step change performance through people and technology advancements
- Champion the Primary Connect engagement program, Customer First Champion (C1C), within the site
- Ensure that ‘Chain of Responsibility’ legislative requirements are adhered to and ensure Safety Standards are met and exceeded
- Networking and negotiation, and delivery of high level information to executive leaders both internal and external
- Build and execute strategic site plans from start to finish

About You
- To enable a seamless transition into this role and to ensure your success, you will possess the following:
- Supply Chain operations background with experience of General Merchandise, Apparel and E-commerce
- Proven ability to inspire, coach, guide and develop team members
- Experience leading large teams or where you have developed creative and innovative ways to engage teams at scale to influence change and engage stakeholders
- Strong awareness of the industrial relations landscape, including experience negotiating EAs and engaging unions
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risks and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
