Senior Planning Engineer (8:6)

The Big Bell and Fender Underground operations are located 34kms west of the Cue township and produces a combined total ore supply of 1.5Mtpa. Big Bell is a unique longitudinal sublevel cave.
This diverse role will see you working with a technical team to oversee Big Bell transition from mining a sub level cave to a large-scale stoping operation with paste fill.
About the opportunity
Westgold are currently sourcing experienced Senior Planning Engineers to provide technical support to the mining operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for making sure production targets are met and safe and accurate plans are delivered in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will work on a family friendly 8:6 roster, on a permanent full-time basis at our Cue Gold Operations: Big Bell.
The role includes
- Completion of development designs in accordance with 13WK plans
- Completion of stope designs for production engineering use
- Mini-DAF and DAF designs
- Completion of Level Extraction Notes
- Completion of Stope Notes
- Completion of Stope Reconciliations
- Completion of Strategic Planning Notes
- Preparation of 13WK schedules where required
- Management of onsite databases (Plodtrack and Livemine)
- Assist in training with Planning and Junior Engineers
- Completion of Vent models for short- and medium-term planning
- Manage adhoc projects as directed by the Underground Manager
- Deputise as Underground Manager where required
- Review Geotechnical reports and ensure stope shapes adhere to site GCMP
- Highlight key activities and critical path processes of budgets, forecasts and weekly plans
- Completion of LOM designs
- Assist in preparation and completion of mine reserves
- Completion of underground budgets
- Prepare and assist Underground Managers with end of month claims
What do I need?
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)
- Underground time completed
- Previous planning experience
- Suitable experience as Production Engineer
- First Class Mine Manager’s Ticket (desirable)
- Exposure to Deswik or equivalent software design packages
- First Aid Certificate
