About the opportunity
Westgold Resources are on the lookout for an experienced People Superintendent to join our Northern operations to lead the delivery of human resource advice and services to support the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
This role will be offered on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off (FIFO from Perth) roster and will float across our Murchison operations.
The role includes
- Partnering with leaders to provide proactive and effective HR solutions tailored to meet the needs of their workforce
- Ensure HR plans and activities are aligned with corporate and operational goals
- Coach and educate leaders in the application of people processes
- Lead the review and revision of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and address business needs
- Lead and facilitate employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary outcomes and actions
- Plan and deliver cyclical People related activities and initiatives including market and performance-based remuneration reviews, salary reviews and provide recommendations consistent with internal strategy
- Work closely with the People Team to ensure alignment with corporate and divisional HR practices and priorities
- Support development of strategic people projects and assist with the roll out of initiatives across the business
- Lead a team of HR professionals to enhance their learning, growth and engagement in delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers
- Support the timely and accurate delivery of end of month reporting
- Deploy and facilitate People function training and compliance programs within the Northern portfolio
- Maintain HR Information System with change of conditions processed in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain collaborative relations with key stakeholders, including operations, employees as well as contractor representatives
- Interprets and advise on relevant Awards, Industrial Agreements, legislation, policies and procedures
- Ensure activity relating to IR/ER management activity is accurately documented and tracked to contribute to reporting and analytics
- Support Injury Management Coordinator for Workers Compensation Claims, Non Work related illness and injury, redeployment of personnel, Fitness for Work and Return to Work activities
What do I need?
- Degree level qualifications in Human Resources, employment relations, organisation development
- Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience in an operational HR role (preferably within the mining and/or resources sector)
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to educate and coach various levels of the organisation regarding employment legislation
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of employment and industrial relations, legislation and regulations
- Advanced skills in the MS Office suite
