We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contractor Compliance Specialist at Perth Office CBD on a 24-month Maximum Term basis.


About this role

As the Contractor Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring external contractor’s working on behalf of Western Power comply fully with the Contract Management Framework and all contractual compliance obligations and requirements including but not limited to; Safety, Environmental, Quality Management and the verification of Contractor claims etc.

To manage and develop relationships with external contracting companies and stakeholders to deliver Western Power’s contractual works effectively and efficiently and to the required standards.

You will also be required to:

  • Responsible for ensuring external contractor’s working on behalf of Western Power comply fully with the Contract Management Framework and all contractual compliance obligations and requirements.
  • To carry out duties as Superintendent’s Representative in accordance with AS4000, AS4902 and AS4906 contracts
  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of compliance to, and consistent application of, the Contract Management Framework and the reporting of any contractor breach of this framework.
  • Ensuring the constructability review of contracted work packages is completed prior to Contract execution.
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of outsourced works to ensure full contractual compliance is met with a focus on:

- site specific safety management

- site specific environmental management

- quality assurance

  • Management of schedule focusing on critical path
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation to validate claims and variation requests.
  • Ensuring a consistent approach to contract delivery including the use of systems, tools, and templates
  • Influence the outcomes and quality of the Contractor’s performance by drawing on specialised experience to make recommendations.
  • Exercise independence in giving sound advice to the site Contractor based on specialised experience.


About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • At least 5 - 6+ years solid experience in power and/or heavy industry planning, construction, operation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Must possess a relevant trade or engineering, contract management or HSE qualification
  • Best practice knowledge and industry experience in the areas of contract management and execution
  • Best practice experience and knowledge is essential for safety management, occupational health, workplace assessing, incident and hazard investigation and emergency response
  • Proven experience is necessary in managing conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations
  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, and motivating people and changing behaviour
  • Proven experience in performing Constructability reviews on design packages
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
