An exciting opportunity as a Senior Assets Planner awaits

This full-time fixed term opportunity is from 17th April 2023 - 17th April 2025 with potential extension beyond the 2-year period. As a Senior Assets Planner managing a metropolitan portfolio, your role will be to understand asset risk, asset capabilities, condition of our physical assets, and future needs associated with our infrastructure assets systems, so that it effectively delivers what our business requires from the assets. The physical engineering assets include but are not limited to Ground Water Treatment Plants, Bores, Bore Mains, and small Chemical Dosing Plants.

With your expertise, you will identify if there are any shortfalls in our existing assets, that will require you to explore mitigations to improve, renew or modify the infrastructure. This is a proactive forward-thinking role.

The fundamentals of your next role:

You will demonstrate your skills in risk management and have sound knowledge of water/wastewater related infrastructure.

It is pivotal to have good interpersonal communication skills, along with being able to negotiate and influence your key stakeholders, which range from Operators to Managers. You will work closely and build strong relationships with our Maintenance and Operations team, as you will be required to understand their needs.

Other stakeholders you will work with include our Asset Investment Planning and In Service Assets Groups. You will oversee influencing in renewals projects that require funding. You will successfully obtain our Program Managers buy-in for the budgeting of these worthy projects.

This portfolio will require you to travel to our metropolitan sites.

Ultimately, your role will be to keep your stakeholders satisfied, where they have an infrastructure assets system that is running effectively and meeting requirements of the business. Doing your job well will mean being across the condition of our assets and being proactive with planning in place for assets that are likely to fail.

To start with, your manager will set the requirements of the role for you. You will be fully supported initially and once you have a solid grasp of what is required, your manager will let you take control of your responsibilities and accountabilities. You will become the voice representing your portfolio with the wider business. Your manager will encourage you to grow in this opportunity.

Qualifications and requirements for the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Valid WA Driver’s License
