Services Officer - Annual Leave Relief - Full Time, Permanent

As the Services Officer - Annual Leave Relief, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Customer Group.

About the role

The Services Officer - Annual Leave Relief is a permanent, full-time position based out of Ballarat station.

The role has you working at Ballarat station, where you will give the best possible service delivery to customers travelling on V/Line services while supporting safety on and around the rail.



In this work, you will:

  • Communicate accurate and timely information to customers, ensuring coach replacements are organised where required
  • Complete ticket sales and seat reservations
  • Act in higher as the Services Manager
  • Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the station
  • Required to work at other stations along the Ballarat line on an ad-hoc basis
  • Safeworking
  • Opportunity to work as a Reserve Conductor
  • Ensure safety on and around the station, for customers, colleagues, and yourself

This permanent, full-time role has a rotating roster that includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, & public holidays. There will also be opportunities to pick up additional hours.



Essential

  • Successful completion of Year 10 (minimum)
  • Victorian Driver Licence
  • Willingness & ability to travel to other stations, to provide service along the line
  • Availability for shift work & overtime
  • Previous face-to-face customer service experience and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety



About you

Having previous experience in face-to-face customer service and an operational environment is an advantage, as is demonstrating good situational awareness and prioritising safety in the workplace.

Knowledge in rostering that aligns with an enterprise agreement can be beneficial, but it is not a requirement.

Experience in rail, transport, hospitality, retail, supply, manufacturing, care work, or any profession valuing safety equally with service is ideal.

This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst doing training for 4-6 weeks. Upon successful completion of the training, the position is then classified as a STN OFF C2 ($41.1597) in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.

This is a Medical Category 2 position.
