About the role
An exciting opportunity to take the next step into your career and bring that strategic, analytical and leadership experience to V/Line in a newly created role, providing direct support to the Executive Director of Network Development Asset and Maintenance with a varied and challenging work program.The position is responsible for providing experienced support and trusted advice, analysis, and briefings to support the Executive Director.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide authoritative and trusted strategic and commercial advice to the Executive Director on policy, Asset Management, and project matters.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, projects and portfolio initiatives ensuring high quality and timely advice to the Executive Director
- Develop high quality briefings, policy and project documents, presentations, reports and correspondence.
- Work collaboratively and interface with Senior Stakeholders, peers and other staff across the Victorian Government to support the effective operation of V/Line and coordination and delivery of the assigned Corporate Services priorities.

About you
Building strong long lasting relationships is extremely important to succeed in this high pressure environment working to tight deadlines. You will need to be able to lead, delegate and influence with exceptional communication skills both verbal and also in a concise written structure whilst being supported with a engaged senior leadership team to benefit both NDAM and the wider organisation to keep the network running safely and efficiently.
To ensure success in the role you will
- Previous experience in Rail Operations, Transport Planning, or an Asset Management field
- Highly developed conceptual, commercial, and analytical skills including strategic and operational advice.
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to negotiate, influence strategic direction and driving change.
- Excellent Stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Have tertiary degree in Business or related field.
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
