Reporting to Signal Supervisor, could you be our next Signal Maintenance Technician?
The responsibility of the Signal Maintenance Technician position is to provide reactive and preventative maintenance of signalling equipment and systems for the Regional Rail Network.
About the role:
- This is a permanent night shift Position on a highly competitive EBA.

- 5 weeks Annual leave per year with 20% leave loading
- A sought-after lifestyle roster of 7 nights on, 7 nights off Roster.
- Hours of work:
- Mon – Fri: 9pm – 7am
- Sat & Sun: 8pm – 7am
- This position covers the Geelong and Warrnambool lines. Assisting Other Regions may be required as necessary.

Duties:
- Maintain and install signalling and communications equipment.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks in accordance with the technical maintenance plan (TMP) and servicing schedules.
- Attend fault rectification tasks and investigate and report on incidents associated with the performance of signalling equipment and systems.
- Enter task completion reports to the maintenance management system.
About you:
- Cert IV in Rail and Tram Signalling Systems.
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Strong communication skills, safety focused and be a positive team player attitude.
- Strong Fault finding, problem solving and diagnostics skills.
- The willingness to work on Permanent nightshift with some overtime and away work when required.
The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with the V/Line Asset management enterprise agreement 2019 on a IMW (SIG & ELEC)3.1 at $57.1934 per hour (Night shift penalty rates apply). The selection process will include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview, probity (police) check and medical check.
