Our Locomotive Drivers are responsible for driving and operating all fleet vehicles safely, which includes following training parameters, operating rules, procedures, policies, work instructions, OH&S Act, and Rail Safety Act.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safe & reliable operation of passenger service trains across Victoria which includes working as part of a team, liaising with Operations staff across the network & building strong working relationships
• Caring for our customers & community, using a safety first approach to decision making, minimising the impact of disruptions & reporting hazards
• Contribute to a work environment that provides for the safety & well-being of staff, rolling stock & infrastructure
• Commitment to the full training term including working away from home to complete practical training at regional 'home depots'
• Successfully complete training modules within specified timeframes & contributing to a culture of learning & knowledge sharing
• The ability to work shift work on a rotating roster 365 day per year & working from regional 'home depots' as rostered

Our ideal candidate

• Train drivers with a minimum of two years train driving experience (post qualification) in Victoria and a great driving record
• You hold a Certificate IV in Train Driving or Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics
• You have a valid Victorian driver's license and a Working With Children Check (or are willing to obtain)
• You understand the importance of providing a timely and safe service
• You want to be part of a growing transport organisation and want to contribute to the Victorian community

The successful applicant will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Agreement 2019, LOCO DVR – V/L ($73.7679). The selection process includes aptitude assessments a behavioural event interview, probity (police) check and medical check.
