About the role

We are looking for people with a diverse range of experience! We are open to hearing from you if you have experience working in HV Electrical Distribution, HV Overhead & underground, ASP1 & ASP2, HV equipment repairs, HV Substation installations or HV maintenance.

Ventia will provide you with the training and support to become an Authorised operator/maintainer of Sydney Water’s vast array of HV equipment. This includes HV Switchgear, Ring Main Units, HV transformers, HV motors and HV Variable Speed Drives.

What you'll be doing

• Working closely with Sydney Water's HV Team and Ventia's HV Team
• Planning of monthly High Voltage preventative maintenance work
• ‘On-Call' once every 7 - 9 weeks on a 24/7 basis (after becoming an authorised HV operator)
• Performing breakdown, corrective and preventative maintenance within the greater Sydney Metropolitan, Blue Mountains and Illawarra regions
• Performing complex switching operations, isolations and earthing on critical High Voltage assets
• Providing High Voltage isolations for various sub-contractors who perform High Voltage Condition Monitoring work, Gas powered Co-Generator work, Hydro Plant work and High Voltage Project work
• Working collaboratively with Endeavour Energy & Ausgrid District Operators as well as Liaising with Sydney Water Plant Team members when planning preventative maintenance work

You may be required to travel anywhere in Sydney Water's area of operation - which stretches from Warriewood in the north, Mount Victoria in the west and Shellharbour in the south.

About you

• COVID-19 vaccinated and able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and full medical
• Sound electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Hold a current driver's licence and a current NSW Electrical Supervisors Certificate or Electrical Contractors Licence
