Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team

Shared Services supplies Transport divisions and agencies with specialised services in finance, payroll and people transactions, workers compensation, facilities, travel, fleet, procurement and external customer services for rebates, inquiries, and government schemes. These services include advice, transactions, inquiries, contract management and project delivery.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a number of Shared Services Officers to join us in our Asset & Workplace Services (AWS) team within the Transport Shared Services branch.

As a Shared Services Officer, you are responsible for providing a high standard of customer service, analysis and reporting, and complex transactional processing for either Fleet Services or Facilities Management areas.

In Fleet Services, the role assists in the management of the light motor and light commercial vehicle fleet including administering vehicle maintenance, short term rental, infringement and toll notices, pool vehicles, vehicle records and salary sacrifice.

In Facilities Management, the role assists in the delivery of a range of workplace services such as concierge, taxi/cab charge, office and janitorial services, and courier and mail services. The role is the first point of contact for enquiries and requests from customers and service providers, and triages these appropriately, resolving issues efficiently and escalating complex issues.

About you

Customer Service is at the heart of this position. We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly individual with proven experience in putting the customer first.

You pride yourself on assisting others and providing excellent customer service, and can demonstrate solid experience within a shared services, contact centre, corporate or managed service environment.

You are a quick learner, being tech-savvy across various systems and technology, and you enjoy problem solving different customer issues and getting to the bottom of things quickly and effectively.

Additionally, you also have a strong grasp of:

  • Handling complex enquiries and transactions, monitoring the resolution of these to ensure issues have been fully resolved to successful completion
  • Trouble-shooting and problem solving recurrent customer service issues, owning and taking accountability for appropriate and timely solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with relevant information systems and a working knowledge of government policy, legislation and standard operating procedures

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 4A ($73,952) – 5E ($81,346) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
