We are currently seeking applications from motivated individuals who have a passion for maintenance activities with prior experience in mining, construction or manufacturing disciplines. We currently have an opportunity for a Component Rebuild Fitter to join the team at Thiess’ Component Rebuild Centre (TCRC) based at Darra.

The TCRC is one of three Thiess facilities responsible for remanufacturing vital components to keep Thiess’ fleet and operations working safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to join an award winning team where your work creates lasting value within the company.

About the role

As our next Component Rebuild Fitterreporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results. This position is based on a Monday – Friday residential roster in Darra, Brisbane.

Some of your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Full teardown, inspect and rebuild of a broad range of mobile mining equipment components
  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer based systems
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
  • Conduct required inspections to maximise facility efficiency
  • Second to none attitude towards workplace safety

About you

The ideal candidate will thrive on meeting goals and challenges and act with fairness and integrity in all that you do. Additionally, you will have a combination of the following skills and experience;

  • Experience in maintenance activities within mining, construction or manufacturing essential
  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or similar highly regarded but not essential
  • Experience in Component diagnosis and/or Rebuild highly regarded
  • Forklift, Gantry Crane and Rigger/Dogger tickets desirable
