Be you, with us, at Thales
At Thales, you’ll work in an environment where everyone can reach their full potential regardless of nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, culture, educational background, religion, or disability. We believe our workforce should experience a culture where people are respected and valued each time they: log on to their computer, walk on to site, speak with a colleague, engage with a customer and meet with their manager. In other words, each time you work with us, we want you to feel empowered and supported to do your best and to bring your whole self to work.
The importance of creating this shared respect for one another is formalised in our Diversity and Inclusion strategy, called; Respect@Thales. This strategy outlines our commitment to both our employees and the communities in which we operate to continuously contribute to an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment.
Our Commitment to Reconciliation
Our vision is for a future where Australia’s First Nations peoples are valued, accepted, and have equality in our society. Where together we are walking forward and creating a future we can all trust. Thales has established strong partnerships with organisations such as the Clontarf Foundation, CareerTrackers, Mirri Mirri, Supply Nation, and UTS Jumbunna. These relationships have facilitated opportunities for us to support these organisations and communities and to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
Thales and Clontarf: An authentic partnership
Thales is a proud partner, and passionate supporter, of the Clontarf Foundation; a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
How we will support you
At Thales, we will support you not only during life’s ups and downs; but through everything in between. We will support you with your career opportunities, ensuring you’re paid equally and also when you want, or need, to access certain workplace conditions.
Some of our initiatives in this space include:
ThalesFlex
Thales values flexibility and is committed to supporting our employees to find the most effective and efficient ways of working. Our employee flexibility program called ‘ThalesFlex’ covers areas such as the place you’re working, how you work, leave arrangements, and role flexibility.
Families@Thales
Thales has become an employer member of Parents at Work, a membership-based organisation providing work and family education and policy advisory services. All Thales employees have an access to Work + Family Hub filled with interactive resources, webinars, podcasts, and courses.
Employee Resource Groups
Thales has an active Respect@Thales Council that plays a crucial role in connecting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives to our broader business strategy. The group aims to promote and maintain an inclusive culture where we can all be our authentic selves, approach our work with passion and achieve our full potential. The council is focusing on 5 areas; LGBTQ+, Gender, Reconciliation Action Plan, Veterans & Neurodiversity, and Accessibility. Each stream has a dedicated Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Executive Sponsor who are working on building a strategy for the respective area with the goal of fostering a respectful workplace.
To us, the ‘right fit’ means being yourself
Nurturing talent and giving the freedom and space to grow is one of the things we do best at Thales. We look for people who can bring us the right mix of flexibility and innovation, analytical thinking and problem solving, communication skills, and self-confidence. People who aren’t afraid to take responsibility and who can bring us impressive business insight or technical prowess. People who are at their best working as part of a team and forging strong working relationships. If this sounds like you, check out our roles in the jobs tab on this page, we can’t wait to hear from you.

Initially as a Systems Engineer within our Secure Communications and Information Systems team. I then joined our Underwater Systems team as a Mechanical Engineer before moving into an Acoustics role and now the Project Engineering position
